Shehr e Mohabbat

Book Name:Shehr e Mohabbat

Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ, had great love for Madinah. He remained present in Madinah for many years and, اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه, even today he rests in Madinah’s blessed BaqīꜤ Sharīf.

Sayyidī Quṭb-e-Madinah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه said:

Once, the administration took a decision to stop feeding grain to the pigeons inside the sacred area of the Masjid, to keep the masjid clean. The idea was that without food, the pigeons would go elsewhere.

So, the rule was implemented, and for several days, no grain was given to the pigeons.

But the pigeons’ love for the Green Dome was such that even though they were starving from hunger, they refused to leave the beloved’s blessed doorstep.

The people of Madinah saw this heart-touching scene with their own eyes. They pleaded with the administration and insisted that the pigeons be allowed to be fed again. So, by popular request, feeding the pigeons at the blessed site was resumed.

May Allah Almighty also bless us with deep and strong love for Madinah al-Munawwarah.[1]
