Sadqa Ki Baharain Ma Afzal Sadqat

Book Name:Sadqa Ki Baharain Ma Afzal Sadqat

Commenting on this verse, Sadr-ul-Afaadil ‘Allamah Maulana Sayyid Mufti Muhammad Na’eemuddin Muradabadi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه has stated: ‘Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Umar رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا is of the opinion that spending here refers to the general spending of all Sadaqat, regardless of whether it is obligatory or voluntary. It is a saying of Hasan, that whatever is beloved to Muslims and is spent for the pleasure of Allah Almighty, is also included in this verse, even if it is only a date.

Sayyiduna ‘Umar bin ‘Abdul ‘Azeez رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه used to purchase sacks of sugar to give as Sadaqah. He was asked, ‘Why don’t you give its value in Sadaqah’? He replied: ‘I love sugar; so I want to spend the thing most loved to me in the way of Allah Almighty.’[1]

صَلُّوْا عَلَی الْحَبیب!                                    صَلَّی اللہُ عَلٰی مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! You have observed that Allah Almighty Himself motivates us to spend the things we like most in His way. Therefore, we should wholeheartedly give Sadaqah instead of being stingy. It is obvious that whatever we possess, was given to us by Allah Almighty, so spending what He has given us for His pleasure will surely increase our blessings; and on the contrary, if we do not give Sadaqah, this could be a cause of losing blessings.

Sayyidatuna ‘Asma bint Abu Bakr رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا has narrated that the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated to me: ‘Do not withhold your hand, otherwise you will be withheld from.’[2]

Dear Islamic brothers! Indeed, wealth is truly a huge blessing from Allah Almighty. Whoever Allah Almighty has blessed with wealth should value this blessing, and should not gather it unnecessarily, nor should he use it in useless activities. He should spend it on his parents,
