Book Name:Sadqa Ki Baharain Ma Afzal Sadqat
Dear Islamic brothers! This was the blessed conduct of the chosen ones of Allah Almighty. They would give Sadaqah of whatever was available, so Allah Almighty granted them much greater blessings in return for their Sadaqah.
On page 513 of his famous book ‘Faizan-e-Sunnat’, Shaykh-e-Tareeqat, Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, the founder of Dawat-e-Islami, ‘Allamah Maulana Abu Bilal Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri Razavi Ziyaee دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ has mentioned this blessed story: Sayyiduna Abu Ja’far bin Khattab رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه was an ‘Abdaal (a saint of high rank) of his time. He goes on to state: ‘Once a beggar came to my doorstep and asked for help. I asked my wife if there was anything to give to him. She replied that she only had four eggs. I asked her to give them to the beggar. She did so and the beggar left with those eggs. After some time, a friend of mine sent me a basket full of eggs. I asked my household members as to how many eggs there were in the basket. They replied that there were 30. I asked: ‘You gave four eggs to the beggar, so according to which calculation have we received these 30 eggs?’ She replied: ‘There are 30 unbroken eggs and 10 broken ones.’
Elaborating on this story, Shaykh ‘Allamah Yafi’ee Yemeni رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ has stated: ‘Some people say regarding this incident that out of the [four] eggs that were given to the beggar, one was broken and 3 were unbroken. Allah Almighty gave 10 in place of each of those eggs; the broken eggs for the broken one, and the unbroken eggs for the unbroken ones.’[1]
