Book Name:Sadqa Ki Baharain Ma Afzal Sadqat
5. اِنَّہَا حِجَابٌ مِّنَ النَّارِ لِمَنِ احْتَسَبَہَا یَبْتَغِیْ بِہَا وَجْہَ اللہ The one who gives Sadaqah for the pleasure of Allah Almighty, that Sadaqah becomes an obstacle him between and the Hellfire.[1]
Dear Islamic brothers! You have heard that Sadaqah prevents disasters and afflictions; it increases one’s life; it removes a bad death; it removes arrogance and boasting; it extinguishes the heat of the grave; Sadaqah will be a shade on the Day of Judgement and it will save us from the torment of Hellfire.
صَلُّوْا عَلَی الْحَبیب! صَلَّی اللہُ عَلٰی مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! Our pious predecessors and Islamic saints had such profound passion for giving Sadaqah, that sometimes those righteous individuals would sacrifice their own needs for the sake of their Muslim brothers. Let’s listen to a great incident for encouragement.
Unique trust in Allah Almighty and unmatched Sadaqah
Sayyidatuna ‘Aaisha Siddiqah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهَا has narrated, that a poor man once asked her for some food. She was fasting, and there was only one bread in her home. She رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهَا told her maid to give him this, and the maid said: ‘If I give him this bread, there will be nothing left for your Iftar.’ Sayyidatuna ‘Aaisha رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهَا said: ‘Give him that loaf of bread.’ The maid gave the bread away. Before the evening approached, the Ahl ul-Bayt or somebody else who used to send gifts, sent the meat of a goat, covered in a cloth. Sayyidatuna ‘Aaisha رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهَا then called the maid and said: ‘Eat from this, it is better for you than the bread.’[2]
