Book Name:Sadqa Ki Baharain Ma Afzal Sadqat
On page 210 of ‘Uyoon-ul-Hikayaat, – a 412-page book published by Maktaba-tul-Madinah, the publishing department of Dawat-e-Islami, a narration from Sahih Bukhari has been mentioned. The most revered and renowned Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: There were three people in the Bani Israel. One was a leper [meaning, one who suffers from leprosy, a disease in which white spots develop on the skin due to a blood disorder], the second was bald-headed and the third one was blind. In order to test them, Allah Almighty continuously sent an angel (in the form of a human). The angel first went to the person suffering from leprosy and asked him: ‘Which thing do you like the most?’ He replied, ‘I like good colour and healthy skin because (due to these white spots on my skin) people dislike me. So the angel then passed its hand over his body, the illness was cured, his colour became good and his skin became beautiful. The angel then asked him: ‘Which wealth do you like the most?’ He replied, ‘I like a camel.’ (In that time, camels were considered great assets, due to their many uses) He was immediately given a pregnant she-camel and the angel made Du’a for him: ‘May Allah Almighty grant you blessings in it’.
Then the angel came to the bald-headed person and asked him: ‘What thing do you like the most?’ He replied, ‘I like beautiful hair, and I want this baldness of mine to come to an end, as people dislike me because of this’. The angel passed its hand over him; his baldness was removed and he was granted beautiful hair. The angel then asked: ‘Which wealth do you like the most?’ He replied, ‘I like cows greatly.’ He was thus given a pregnant cow, and the angel prayed for him: ‘May Allah Almighty bless you in this.’
In the end, the angel came to the blind person and asked him: ‘What thing do you like the most?’ He replied: ‘I would like for Allah Almighty to restore my eyesight so that I may see people.’ The angel passed its hand over him, and Allah Almighty granted him the faculty of seeing. It
