was then asked from him: ‘Which wealth do you like the most?’ He said: ‘Goats.’ He was then given a pregnant goat.
Now the camel, cow and goat began to give birth. In a small period of time, there was such increase in the number of these three animals, that entire fields became filled with them, one with camels, the second with cows and the third with goats.
The angel then came to the one who had suffered from leprosy in a form like his previous state, meaning, in the state of leprosy, and said: ‘I am poor and destitute, and my travel provisions have run out. There is no visible way for me to return, but I do have hope in the mercy of Allah Almighty and I am asking for your help. For the sake of the One Who has blessed you with beautiful complexion and skin, and great wealth, for His sake; give me a camel so that I may get to my destination.’
Listening to this, the man refused whilst saying: ‘I have already many responsibilities and rights upon me.’ The angel said: ‘It seems to me like I know you. Are you not the one who was suffering from the affliction of leprosy? People used to detest you and you were a poor and needy person, then, Allah Almighty granted you wealth?’ He replied: ‘I have received this wealth in inheritance, from generation to generation it has reached me.’ The angel said: ‘If you are a liar in this matter, may Allah Almighty turn you back into what you were.’
The angel then came to the one who was bald-headed, in the shape of his former self (meaning, when the person had no hair) and had the same conversation with him. He also responded in the same manner. The angel said: ‘If you are a liar in this matter, may Allah Almighty return you to your previous condition.’
