Statements of the Righteous

Fragrant words

He who conquers his desires is a greater victor than he who conquers an entire city alone.

Sayyidunā Manūr b. Ammār al-Marwazī

When love teaches self-awareness

The etiquettes of love are not learned from people. They are a special gift from Allah Almighty.

Sayyidunā Marūf b. Fayrūz al-Karkhī

Always uphold the rights of others

Do not neglect the rights of your brother and merely rely on his kindness.

Imam al-Shāfiī

Wise words from Imam Amad Razā Khān

The collective denial of people cannot alter the true nature of good or evil

A beloved thing shall remain beloved even if disliked by all, and a disliked thing shall remain disliked even if people indulge in it.[4]

When an idea firmly settles in one’s heart, they resist accepting anything that contradicts it

If they read something opposing their view, it fails to enter their heart. If they hear this, it goes no further than their ears. Yet, we have not been instructed to be obstinate in this manner.[5]

The Prerequisite of Love

True love calls for following and affirming, not arguing and denying.[6]

Profound statements from Mawlana Ilyas al-Qadiri

Give precedence to the law

Even if a thief is caught red-handed, one must not take the law into their own hands. Instead, hand him over to the authorities.[7]

Time heals all wounds

Grief gradually fades, and a person returns to normal life, for one must eventually make peace with circumstances.[8]

Good company fosters devotion to worship

If one finds a sincere and pious person who loves the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, his company becomes a blessing for both worlds, as his companionship awakens the passion for worship.[9]
