Rafīq al-Ḥaramayn
Hajj is a significant act of worship. Since its rites are performed at specific locations and during particular days, the possibility of errors and omissions increases significantly. The same applies to Umrah. Therefore, it is extremely vital for those blessed with the opportunity of Hajj and Umrah to learn and memorise the Shariah rulings. It is a great fortune if the practical methods of Hajj and Umrah are learned from the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah.
The spiritual guide, Amīr Ahl al-Sunnah, the founder of Dawat-e-Islami, Mawlānā Muhammad Ilyas Attar al-Qādirī al-Riḍawī دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ is undoubtedly a beautiful embodiment of piety, love for the holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, knowledge, and practice. In the light of the holy Quran, Sunnah, and research of the noble jurists, as well as his own observations and experiences, Amīr Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ has compiled a book covering Shariah rulings relating to Hajj and Umrah entitled Rafīq al-Ḥaramayn. This book has been published in the thousands for many years, and its popularity is such that, besides Urdu, it has been translated into English, Sindhi, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Roman Urdu and Telugu.
Allah Almighty has gifted Amīr Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ with the ability to explain complicated matters through his pen and speech in such a way that even a person with basic understanding can understand them. This writing style can be observed in Rafīq al-Ḥaramayn, in which the rulings of Hajj and Umrah are written in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
A prominent feature of this book is the addition of current issues and the mention of important precautions throughout. Thus, it can be said that Rafīq al-Ḥaramayn is a comprehensive work on its subject that reduces the academic thirst of the reader.
Since this book has emerged from the blessed pen of a lover of Madinah, the fragrance of devotion is found in every line. Alongside describing the rulings of Hajj and Umrah, sacred sites have also been identified for the Devotees of the holy Prophet. Sacred places of Makkah al-Mukarramah and Madinah al-Munawwarah have been recorded separately. The explanation of the blessed Muwājahah Sharīf has been presented according to the research of the Imam of Ahl al-Sunnah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه.
The rulings for Islamic sisters and children have been given separate headings. Various accounts of the pilgrims of the Two Holy Sanctuaries have also been included as appropriate to further enhance spiritual zeal and love. The supplications for various stages are also mentioned in the book. Although the entire book is worth reading, the rulings mentioned at the end in the form of questions and answers are particularly helpful in resolving many confusions for a pilgrim.
The index of sources and references reveals that approximately 58 books of Hadith and Fiqh, along with their commentaries, were consulted in the preparation of this book. Purchase this book from Maktabat al-Madinah, read it yourself, and present it as a gift to those intending to perform Hajj. Furthermore, this book can be read and downloaded from the website of Dawat-e-Islami: www.dawateislami.net.
