The Ruling on Tattooing the Body
Question: What do the scholars of Islam and Muftis of the Shariah state regarding the current trend of tattooing arms and other parts of the body? People have names and various designs inscribed on their bodies using machines that pierce the skin and fill it with permanent ink. This process causes pain and results in a wound that heals after a few days to reveal the design underneath. What is the Islamic ruling on this?

Getting tattoos of various designs on the body is prohibited in Shariah. This involves altering the creation of Allah Almighty, and making alterations to His creation in a manner contrary to Shariah is forbidden and constitutes a Satanic act. If a person has such names or designs inscribed, it is mandatory for them to repent, and to have the tattoos removed if it is possible without causing severe pain or disfigurement. Otherwise, the person should leave them as they are and continue to seek forgiveness in the Court of Allah.

The Ruling on Performing Prayer in the State of IḍṭibāꜤ
Question: What do the scholars of Islam and Muftis of the Shariah state regarding a person who performs IḍṭibāꜤ during ṭawāf and subsequently performs prayer in the same state? Is the prayer valid?
After completing ṭawāf (circumambulation of the KaꜤbah), the person must cover the shoulder that was left bare in order to perform the Sunnah of iḍṭibāꜤ during ṭawāf. If one performs prayer while the shoulder is exposed, the prayer is makrūh tanzīhī (disliked), and its repetition is mustaḥabb. This is because performing prayer in clothing that one would not wear before respectable people is makrūh tanzīhī. For instance, appearing before distinguished individuals wearing only a vest and trousers is considered improper; likewise, performing prayer in a vest is makrūh tanzīhī.

The Ruling on Resting During Ṭawāf or SaꜤī
Question: What do the scholars of Islam and Muftis of the Shariah state regarding whether it is permissible to rest for a short while during ṭawāf or saꜤy due to fatigue?
Performing the circuits of ṭawāf and saꜤy consecutively without interruption is a sunnah, and creating a gap between them without a valid excuse is makrūh. A "valid excuse" may include: performing ablution, the commencement of a congregational prayer, the arrival of a funeral, the need to relieve oneself, or fatigue. Therefore, if one feels tired after several circuits of ṭawāf or saꜤy and rests for a while before resuming from where they left off, it is permissible. However, if an excessively long gap occurs, it is mustaḥabb to start from the beginning.

Wiping the Nose or Sweat with a Cloth or Tissue in the State of Iḥrām
Question: What do the scholars of Islam and Muftis of the Shariah say regarding wiping the nose with a cloth or tissue paper if one has a cold while in the state of Iḥrām? Furthermore, what is the ruling on wiping sweat from the face with a cloth?
If a person catches a cold while in the state of Iḥrām, they cannot wipe it with a cloth or tissue paper. In such cases, the cloth should be held at a distance from the nose and brought slightly close to clean it. Similarly, wiping sweat with a cloth is also not permitted.
The detailed ruling is that a person in iḥrām is required to keep their face uncovered; it must not be concealed with any object, be it a cloth or something else like tissue paper. When a cloth or tissue is placed on any part of the face—such as the nose or forehead—to remove sweat or mucus, the face becomes covered, which is impermissible for a person in iḥrām. Therefore, wiping the nose or sweat with a cloth or tissue paper is not permissible.

Including an ꜤAqīqah Share in a Qurbānī Animal
Question: What do the scholars of Islam and Muftis of the Shariah state regarding whether it is permissible to include a share for ꜤAqīqah in the sacrifice of a cow, buffalo, or camel? Will both the Qurbānī and ꜤAqīqah be valid by including such a share?
It is permissible to include an ꜤAqīqah share in the sacrifice of a cow, buffalo, or camel. By doing so, both the Qurbānī and the ꜤAqīqah will be valid. This is because it is permissible to intend other compulsory (wājib) or voluntary acts of worship with a single sacrificial animal. Even if only one of the seven shares is intended for Qurbānī and the remaining shares are intended for other obligations or supererogatory acts—such as Kaffārah or ꜤAqīqah —the Qurbānī and all other intended acts will be valid.

The Ruling on Four Individuals Contributing Equal Amounts to Sacrifice an Animal
Question: What do the scholars of Islam and Muftis of the Shariah state regarding the following: if four individuals jointly contribute equal amounts of money to purchase and slaughter a large animal, such as a cow, with the intention of sacrifice (Qurbānī), will their sacrifice be valid given that a large animal consists of seven shares? Furthermore, how should the meat be distributed among them?
In the situation described, the sacrifice performed by the four individuals will be valid. In animals such as cows and camels, it is necessary for each person’s contribution to be at least one-seventh of the total; however, if a share exceeds one-seventh, there is no harm. The meat must be weighed and distributed equally among all the partners.
