Pearls of wisdom regarding BayꜤah
Dear Islamic brothers! Let us now listen to a few pearls of wisdom regarding BayꜤah:
1. In this world, one should appoint a pious person as his imam, in Shariah through taqlīd, and in ṭarīqah through bayꜤah, so that you are raised among the righteous on the Day of Judgement.[1]
2. Becoming the murīd of a murshid is one way of protecting your faith.[2]
3. Pledging bayꜤah at the hand of a qualified shaykh is an action practiced by generations of Muslims, and it carries countless blessings and benefits for one’s religion, worldly life, and Hereafter.[3]
4. A murshid is appointed for the affairs of the Hereafter, so that through his guidance and spiritual attention, the murīd avoids deeds that displease Allah and His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and instead lives a life of obedience and righteousness.[4]
5. Once a person has pledged spiritual allegiance to a worthy murshid, he should not take bayꜤah at the hand of another.[5]
6. Becoming a murīd of Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ has great benefits, such as the protection of faith, the ability to repent before death, salvation from Hell, and entry into Paradise.[6]
