Book Name:Shehr e Mohabbat
devotee of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and a distinguished Islamic scholar. اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه. He was very intelligent and had a brilliant mind. His ability to present evidence on religious matters was remarkable—he would give such powerful and unique arguments that would astonish listeners.
The following account is from when the Sayyid visited Madinah al-Munawwarah. When true devotees stand before the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, their hearts become restless, and tears flow from their eyes. At that moment, they forget everything else and turn their full attention to the Soul of the Universe, the beloved of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
As I was saying, the great devotee of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, Sayyid Aḥmad SaꜤīd Kāẓimī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه stood before the blessed resting place in a state of intense devotion. His eyes were closed, lips moving gently, whispering heartfelt pleas to his Master and beloved صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
Suddenly, a disrespectful man disrupted that spiritual moment in an intimidating manner. He shouted, “Ḥajjī! Don’t turn your back to the Ka’bah! If you want to supplicate, face the Kabah— turn your back to the Rawḍah!”
As it was the court of the beloved Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, it was not appropriate to turn attention elsewhere. So, Sayyid Aḥmad SaꜤīd Kāẓimī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه completely ignored the man's words and remained engrossed in his supplications. That disrespectful man memorised the Shaykh’s appearance, and the following day, he took him to a senior official in Madinah, accusing him of the “crime” of facing the Rawdah while supplicating. When the Shaykh was brought before the official, the first question he was asked was: “Do you consider the Prophet’s grave to be superior to the Ka’bah?”
Now witness the brilliance of the Shaykh رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه! He replied, “You’re
