left, he wore fine clothing and adorned himself like a bridegroom and then returned to the Masjid again. He then continued to offer Nafl Salah until Fajr. Before Fajr Salah, he returned home, changed his clothes and then retuned again. After offering the Fajr Salah in Jama’at, he continued to teach again until Isha.
Sayyiduna Mis’ar Bin Kidaam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states: I thought to myself, ‘He must be tired now, he will definitely sleep tonight’, but he continued like this for the second night also. Then the third night also passed in this manner, where he would teach Islamic knowledge during the entire day and then offer Nafl in the Court of Allah Almighty at night. I was greatly impressed and decided that I will remain in his service for the rest of my life. Thus, I began to reside in his Masjid permanently.
He also states: I never saw Imam-e-A’zam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه except that he would be fasting during the day and I never observed him neglecting Nafl worship during the night.
