Tazkira e Imam e Azam

Book Name:Tazkira e Imam e Azam

The reason behind him remaining busy in worship all night is very interesting and a point of note for us. The reason is as follows: He was once going somewhere when a person pointed towards him and said to another person, ‘This is that Imam-e-A’zam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه who does not sleep at night (i.e. who remains engaged in worship).’ It was after this incident that he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه began to worship all night and said: I feel ashamed before Allah Almighty to be praised for worship which I do not perform. (Al-Raud-ul-Faaiq fil Mawa’iz wal Raqaaiq, p. 170) اَللّٰھُ اَکْبَر! This was his lofty thinking! May Allah Almighty also give us the ability to worship abundantly, keep Nafl fasts alongside the fasts of Ramadan and recite the Quran.

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                  صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! Did you hear how our Imam-e-A’zam Abu Hanifah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه would spend the entire day spreading Islamic knowledge, which is a great virtue and a means of perpetual reward itself, yet despite this, he would still recite the Quran and offer Nafl Salah in abundance.

We should also follow in the footsteps of Imam-e-A’zam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه by:

*   Offering our five daily Salahs

*   Encouraging our family and friends to offer Salah also

*   Waking up at night and remembering Allah Almighty

*   Crying in His remembrance

*   Performing the Zikr of Allah Almighty in abundance

*   Worshipping Allah Almighty out of love for Him

*   Trying to make Allah Almighty pleased

*   Crying over our sins
