    departs, the other is taken away also.’ (Mustadrak, vol. 1, p. 176, Hadith 66)

       ۔2 ‘Indeed, every religion has a quality, and the quality of Islam is modesty.’ (Ibn-e-Majah, vol. 4, p. 460, Hadith 4181)

       ۔3 ‘Immodesty renders a thing defective in which it exists, and modesty adorns a thing in which it exists.’ (Ibn-e-Majah, vol. 4, p. 461, Hadith 4185)

    صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                            صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

    Dear Islamic brothers! Ponder! How much importance does modesty have in Islam, such that in the first Hadith, it is stated that faith and modesty are joined with one another; and when one goes away, the other departs by itself. It is the plot of the enemies of Islam today to remove modesty from the Muslims, and when modesty will no longer remain, Iman will leave by itself.

    How many acts of immodesty are taking place in our society today? Let us listen to some of them: Obscene conversation, swearing, wearing such tight clothing that the limbs become apparent, not respecting elders, listening to songs, watching movies and dramas, committing sins, reading indecent novels, non-Mahrams meeting in the name of weddings and functions, speaking without any hesitation and not observing the Shar’i veil, etc.

    Modesty and the period of ignorance

    Dear Islamic brothers, if we read history, we will come to know that obscenity and immodesty was common among Arabs in the period of ignorance, i.e. the period before the arrival of the Messenger of Allahصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  in this world. Free mixing of men and women, taking gratification from women singing and dancing was common. The major poets of Arabia would proudly mention the inappropriate gestures and charms of women in their poetry. Similarly, upon the father’s death, مَعاذَ الـلّٰـه some people would marry his wife (i.e. their own stepmother). There were many other obscene and immodest customs that were common among them. In summary, the period of ignorance did not even have a distanced connection with modesty.

    An environment filled with modesty

    But when the embodiment of modesty, the Beloved Mustafa صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم
