*   He has never fasted on ꜤĀshūrāˈ in his whole life.

*   How will he perform awwābīn salah, when he doesn’t even know what time to offer them?

*   He eats the food of niyāz and says it is blessed, but he never donates towards it being made.[1]

Rulings concerning backbiting

Dear Islamic brothers! Honouring a Muslim means we must not backbite them or even listen to any backbiting about them.

1.   Backbiting is a major sin, definitively haram and a deed which leads to Hell.

2.   Anyone who thinks backbiting is halal, leaves the fold of Islam.

3.   The backbiter is a sinful transgressor and rightful of punishment in Hell.

4.   Anyone who listens to backbiting without an excuse validified by sharīʿah, is just as sinful as he who backbites.[2]

Four hadith regarding backbiting

1.   The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked his Companions, “Do you know what backbiting is?” They replied with, اللہُ وَ رَسُوْلُہٗ اَعْلَم “Allah and His Messenger know best.”

He then explained, “(Backbiting is) Talking about your brother in a way he does not like.”

It was asked, “What if the shortcoming I mention is actually found in my brother?” The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم then said, “If the fault you mention is found in him, this is then backbiting. If they do not have the fault
