Musalman Ki Izzat Kijiye

Book Name:Musalman Ki Izzat Kijiye

verses that comprise it. In particular, Muslims have been taught the etiquettes of collective societal interaction and how we should behave when interacting with fellow Muslims. This includes our parents, siblings, neighbours, relatives, or even strangers from any corner of the world. No matter where they come from, if we meet a Muslim, we are compelled to exhibit good conduct towards them.

Here are six Madani pearls of wisdom from Sūrah al-Ḥujurāt. Let’s take a listen to them and try our best to make these a part of our character.      اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه

1. Do not make fun of anyone

Allah announced in verse 11 of Sūrah Ḥujurāt:

O believers! Men must not ridicule other men, it is likely that the ridiculed are better than the mockers; nor must the women ridicule other women, it is likely that the ridiculed women may be better than the mockers.[1]

The honour possessed by a Muslim means we must not make fun of them in any way. This part of verse 11 clarifies how men should not ridicule men, nor women ridicule women.  Everyone has a particular temperament and way of going about their lives. We should not criticise any person’s way of doing things. We cannot critique people’s clothing or lifestyle. Even if a person is a sinner, he should still be invited to righteousness in a good manner. Making fun of them is completely wrong.
