thank Allah Almighty, because we are going to be blessed with Ramadan once again. The importance and virtue of this blessed month can be understood from the following point: Before the arrival of this blessed month, our Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم mentioned its virtues to his noble companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُم and encouraged them to perform acts of worship in this month.

A blessed month is arriving!

Sayyiduna Salman Farsi رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ states: The Beloved Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  addressed us on the final day of Sha’ban and said, ‘O people! A great and blessed month is coming to you; the month in which there is a night that is better than a thousand months. Allah Almighty has made fasting Fard in this month. Standing in its night (i.e. offering Taraweeh) is Sunnah. If you do a good deed in this month, it will be equivalent to carrying out a Fard act in any other month, and if you perform a Fard act in this month, it will be equivalent to carrying out 70 Fard acts in any other month. This is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Paradise. This is the month of sympathy and doing good, and the believer’s sustenance is increased in this month. In this month, the one who serves a fasting person with something to do Iftar with, he will be forgiven for his sins, he will be freed from the fire of Hell, and he will be rewarded the same as the one who fasted, without any reduction in the reward of the fasting person.’

We asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Not all of us possess something that he can present for Iftar.’ He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم replied, ‘Allah Almighty will give this reward to the one who gives a date, or a sip of water, or a sip of milk to the fasting person. This is that month in which its beginning (first ten days) is mercy, its middle (middle 10 days) is forgiveness and its end (last 10 days) is freedom from Hell. The one who demands less work from his slave (i.e. those working beneath him) in this month, Allah Almighty will forgive him and free him from Hell.
