a Hasani Syed, and through his mother, he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه is a Husayni Syed. (Bahjat-ul-Asraar wa Ma’din-ul-Anwaar, pp. 171-172, summarised, selected) The excellence of Ghaus-e-A’zam is such that for 40 years, he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه offered Fajr Salah with the Wudu of Isha. As soon as his Wudu would become invalid, it was his habit to make Wudu and perform two Rak’at of Nafl Salah (Bahjat-ul-Asraar, p. 164). He رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه would deliver lectures on 13 different sciences. (Bahjat-ul-Asraar, p. 225, summarised)

Rulings and etiquettes of Taraweeh

Dear Islamic brothers! Let us listen to some rulings of Taraweeh:

   *Taraweeh is Sunnat-e-Muakkadah upon every sane, adult Islamic brother and Islamic sister. (Durr-e-Mukhtar, vol. 2, p. 596)

   *It is not permissible to leave it. (Bahar-e-Shari’at, vol. 1, p. 688)

   *Taraweeh consists of 20 Rak’aat, and 20 Rak’aat would be prayed in the era of Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna Umar Farooq-e-A’zam رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ. (Sunan-ul-Kubra-lil-Bayhaqi, vol. 2, p. 699, Hadith 4617)

   *The Jama’at of Taraweeh is a communal Sunnat-e-Muakkadah; if all of the people abandoned the congregation in the Masjid, they are all blameworthy, and if a few individuals prayed it in congregation, then the one who prayed alone is deprived of the virtue of Jama’at. (Hidayah, vol. 1, p. 70)

   *The time of Taraweeh is from after praying the Fard of Isha until true dawn (Subh-e-Sadiq). If it is prayed before the Fard of Isha, then it is not valid. (Fatawa Hindiyyah, vol. 1, p. 115)

   *Taraweeh can also be prayed after Witr. (Durr-e-Mukhtar, vol. 2, p. 597) Just as is the case when there is a delay in receiving reports of the moon being sighted on the 29^th.
