Remaining rulings and etiquettes of Taraweeh

   *It is better to offer the 20 Rak’at of Taraweeh in two’s, with ten Salams. (Durr-e-Mukhtar, vol. 2, p. 599)

   *The 20 Rak’at of Taraweeh can also be offered with one Salam, but doing this is Makruh (Tanzeehi). (Durr-e-Mukhtar, vol. 2, p. 599)

   *It is Fard to do Qa’dah (sit) after every two Rak’at; Salat on the Prophet should also be recited after Attahiyyaat, and Sana should be recited in the odd Rak’at (i.e. the first, third, fifth, etc.). The Imam should also recite Ta’awwuz (i.e. ‘اَعُوْذُ بِاللہِ مِنَ الشَّیْطٰنِ الرَّجِیْمِ’) and Tasmiyah (i.e. ‘بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ’).

   *If one is praying two Rak’at at a time, he should make a separate intention for every two Rak’at, and if he made an intention for 20 Rak’at together then this is also permissible. (Rad-ul-Muhtar, vol. 2, p. 597)

   *It is Makruh to pray Taraweeh whilst sitting without a valid reason, in fact, according to some jurists رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـه, it is not even valid. (Durr-e-Mukhtar, vol. 2, p. 603)

   *It is superior to offer Taraweeh with congregation in the Masjid; if it is offered with congregation in the home then there is no sin for leaving the congregation, however, he will not receive the reward that is received for praying in the Masjid. (Fatawa Hindiyyah, vol. 1, p. 116) One should offer the Fard of Isha with congregation in the Masjid and then offer Taraweeh at home or in a hall, etc. If they
