Book Name:Blessings of Safar ul Muzaffar
* Taking a good omen takes a person towards success, movement and progression, whereas taking a bad omen produces despair and laziness, which takes one towards shame and humiliation.
Hakeem-ul-Ummat Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan Na’eemi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states: It is Sunnah to take a good omen, in which there is hope from Allah Almighty. Taking a bad omen is forbidden as there is despair towards Allah Almighty in it. Hope is good and despair is bad, always remain hopeful in Allah Almighty. (Mirat-ul-Manajih, vol. 6, p. 255)

Dear Islamic Brothers! Remember! That person who suffers from the calamity of delusion, he begins to perceive everything as unfortunate. To the extent that the delusional person makes the wrong decisions after falling prey to the words of unwise people and does not only put himself into tribulation but also becomes a means of distressing others. Perceiving any Muslim as unfortunate can inflict one with hatred. The delusion of thinking of something as ill-fated is that sword of Satan that can become a means of quarrel and fighting between Muslims leading to the elimination of peace and tranquillity. Comprehend this matter as best you can, there is no concept in Islam of perceiving any person, place, thing or time as ill-fated, this is only delusional thinking.
A’la Hadrat, Imam of the Ahl-us-Sunnah, Maulana Shah Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه was asked: It is known about a certain person: If his ill-fated appearance is seen in the morning or if he is seen on the way to work, then one definitely has to endure some sort of difficulty, and no matter how confident one is in completing a certain work, it is perceived that there will be some sort of hindrance. Hence, those people continue to experience what they are thinking. They keep in mind that if they come across this person on the way, then they will return home, and after some time, they find out whether this ill-fated person is still around before leaving for their work again. The question is, is the belief of such people and their course of conduct right? Is there any evil here as per Shari’ah?
