زَیِّـنُوْا مَجَالِسَکُمْ بِالصَّلَاةِ عَلَـیَّ فَاِنَّ صَلَاتَـکُمْ عَلَـیَّ نُوْرٌ لَّـکُمْ یَـوْمَ الْقِیَامَةِ

Translation: Adorn your gatherings by sending Salat upon me, for your sending of Salat upon me will be a light for you on the Day of Judgement. (Jami’ al-Sagheer, p. 280, Hadees 4580)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! Nowadays, people talk extensively about a particular topic, and that topic is: Who is the fortunate one? Everyone has their own standard of what is good fortune, according to their own understanding; some say: The one who has a nice car is very fortunate. Others say: The one who has a lot of wealth is very fortunate. Another says: The one who has a beautiful house is very fortunate. Others say: The one who has connections with people of power is very fortunate. Another says: The one who gets the job done with one phone call is very fortunate. Someone else says: The one who lives abroad is very fortunate etc.

Today, in light of Quran and Hadees, we will attempt to understand whether those whom we consider fortunate are truly fortunate or is the reality something else? Let us listen to a blessed Hadees in regards to this:

The reality of wealth and children

The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم once said to the noble companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُم: ‘Do you know the similitude of you, your family, wealth and actions?’

The noble companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُم said: ‘اَللّٰہُ وَرَسُوْلُہٗ اَعْلَم, meaning, Allah Almighty and His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم know better.’

So, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: ‘Your similitude and the similitude of your family, wealth and actions is like the one who has three brothers. When the time of his death approaches, he calls his three brothers and says to one of them, ‘You are witnessing my state; tell me what can you do for me?’ And he replies, ‘What I can do for you is that I can take care of
