Remaining manners of gratitude
Gratitude preserves blessings (Shukr kay Fazaail, p. 12)
* Gratitude is the way of the saints of Allah Almighty (Shukr kay Fazaail, p. 12)
* Gratitude is to leave the disobedience of Allah Almighty (Shukr kay Fazaail, p. 12)
* Showing gratitude upon receiving a blessing protects a person from punishment (Siraat-ul-Jinan, vol. 4, p. 406)
* Worship is incomplete without gratitude (Baydawi, vol. 1, p. 449, Part 2, Surah Al-Baqarah, Taht-ul-Ayah 172)
* Sayyiduna Abu Sulayman Waasiti رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه stated: Remembering the favours of Allah Almighty develops love in the heart for Allah Almighty (Ibn-e-‘Asakir, vol. 36, p. 334, Hadees 4133)
* Sayyiduna Umar Bin Abdul Aziz رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ said: Preserve the blessings of Allah Almighty through gratitude (Hilyat-ul-Awliya, vol. 5, p. 374, Hadees 7455)
* Imam Ghazali رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه said: The gratitude of the heart is to intend goodness with the blessing
* The gratitude of the tongue is to praise and glorify Allah Almighty for the blessing
* The gratitude of the remaining limbs is to utilise the blessings of Allah Almighty in the worship of Allah Almighty and to protect those blessings from being used in the disobedience of Allah Almighty
