A deed that leads to Paradise

The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم once said to the noble companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُم: ‘A dweller of Paradise will pass by you now.’ In the meanwhile, an Ansari companion came. He was holding his sandals in his left hand and the water of Wudu was dripping from his beard. He gave Salam. The next day, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said the same thing and the same Ansari companion رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ came again like the first time. This happened on the third occasion too.

Sayyiduna Abdullah Bin ‘Amr Bin ‘Aas رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُما went to that Ansari companion and managed to get permission to remain with him for three days. Thus, he spent three nights with that Ansari companion, but did not see him performing any worship at night. However, when he would turn on to his side in bed, he would do the Zikr of Allah Almighty until the time of Fajr would arrive and then he would stand up. Sayyiduna Abdullah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ states: ‘I only heard good words from that Ansari companion.’
