The First Month of The Islamic Year 1448 AH
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic year. Due to its sacred and revered status, this blessed month is called “Muharram,” which means “the Sacred Month.”

Days of Sacrifice, Patience, and Remembrance of Allah
When the crescent moon of Muharram is sighted, recite the following supplication
Begin Muharram with the remembrance of Allah
مَرْحَبًا بِالسَّنَۃِ الْجَدِیْدِ وَالشَّھْرِ الْجَدِیْدِ وَالْیَوْمِ الْجَدِیْدِ وَالسَّاعَۃِ الْجَدِیْدِ مَرْحَبًا بِالْکَاتِبِیْنَ الشَّاھِدِیْنَ اَکْتَبَا فِی صَحِیْفَتِی بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ اَشْھَدُ اَنْ لَّا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللہُ وَحْدَہ لَاشَرِیْکَ لَہ وَ اَشْھَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُہ وَرَسُوْلُہ وَاَنَّ الْجَنَّۃَ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ وَاَنَّ السَّاعَۃَ اٰتِیَۃٌ لَّارَیْبَ فِیْھَا وَاَنَّ اللہَ یَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِیْ القُبُوْر۔
Welcome to the new year, the new month, the new day, and the new hour! Welcome to the two angels who are present to record my deeds.In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.I bear witness that Allah is One and has no partner. I bear witness that Muhammad is indeed Allah’s servant and Messenger. Indeed, Paradise is true, Hell is true, and the Day of Judgment will surely come—there is no doubt about it. And indeed, Allah will resurrect those who are in their graves.
An Act for Protection from Satan
A powerful way to seek protection from Satan
اَللّٰھُمَّ اَنْتَ اللّٰہُ الْاَ بَدُ الْقَدِیْمُ وَھٰذِہٖ سَنَۃٌ جَدِیْدَۃٌ اَسْئَلُکَ فِیْھَا الْعَصْمَۃَ مِنَ الشَّیْطَانِ وَالْعَوْنَ عَلَی النَّفْسِ الْاَمَّارَۃِ بِالسُّوْ ءِ وَاَسْئَلُکَ الْاِشْتِغَالَ بِمَاتَقَرَّبَنِی اِلَیْکَ یَا کَرِیْمُ یَاذَاالْجَلَالِ وَالْاِکْرَامِ۔
O Allah, You are Eternal and Everlasting. This is a new year, and I ask You to protect me from Satan throughout this year and to help me overcome the evil inclinations of my commanding self (the nafs that urges one toward wrongdoing). O Most Generous One! O Lord of Majesty and Honor! I ask You to keep me engaged in deeds that draw me closer to You and earn Your pleasure.
Du‘a for the New Moon
A Blessed Supplication for the New Month
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالْاِيمَانِ وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْاِسْلَامِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّه
O Allah! Let this moon rise upon us with blessings, faith, peace, and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.

Ayat of the Day
وَ الَّذِیْنَ یُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِمَاۤ اُنْزِلَ اِلَیْكَ وَ مَاۤ اُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَۚ-وَ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ هُمْ یُوْقِنُوْنَﭤ(4)
And they believe in that which was sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you,[1] and they are certain of the Here after.
Al Baqarah, 4
Hadees of the Day
لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا وَيَعْرِفْ شَرَفَ كَبِيرِنَا
He who does not have mercy on our young, nor recognize the esteem of our elders, is not from us.
