Surah Taha Ayat 74-75-76 Translation Tafseer

Para 16 - قَالَ اَلَمْ

سورة طه

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

20.74-75-76

اِنَّهٗ مَنْ یَّاْتِ رَبَّهٗ مُجْرِمًا فَاِنَّ لَهٗ جَهَنَّمَؕ-لَا یَمُوْتُ فِیْهَا وَ لَا یَحْیٰى(74) وَ مَنْ یَّاْتِهٖ مُؤْمِنًا قَدْ عَمِلَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَاُولٰٓىٕكَ لَهُمُ الدَّرَجٰتُ الْعُلٰىۙ (75) جَنّٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِیْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِیْنَ فِیْهَاؕ-وَ ذٰلِكَ جَزٰٓؤُا مَنْ تَزَكّٰى۠ (76)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

Whosoever comes to His Lord as a wrongdoer, then indeed Hell is for him; he will neither die nor live ˹peacefully˺ therein. And whosoever comes to Him as a believer, having done righteous deeds, so for these very people there are elevated ranks.[1] Everlasting gardens beneath which rivers are flowing; and this is the recompense of he who became pure.

Commentary

Virtuous deeds are often mentioned alongside faith in the Quran. Thus, we come to learn that it is necessary for one to possess both correct beliefs and good deeds. The one who has corrupt beliefs and does not die upon faith will be afflicted with the terrifying punishment of Hell for eternity. As for the one who holds sound beliefs and dies upon faith but does not perform good deeds, he may also face punishment if he does not receive divine mercy on the Day of Judgement. Therefore, correct beliefs and sincere virtuous deeds must be observed so that one can attain the bounties of Paradise.
