Surah Al Munafiqun Ayat 1 Translation Tafseer

Para 28 - قَدْ سَمِعَ اللّٰهُ

سورة المنفقون

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

63.1

اِذَا جَآءَكَ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ قَالُوْا نَشْهَدُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِۘ-وَ اللّٰهُ یَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُوْلُهٗؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ یَشْهَدُ اِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِیْنَ لَكٰذِبُوْنَۚ (1)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

When the hypocrites come to you, they say, “We testify that indeed you are the Messenger of Allah.” And Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger. And Allah bears witness that indeed the hypocrites are liars. [1]

Commentary

Despite their statement being true, the hypocrites were still considered liars, because although they declared with their words that the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is Allah’s Messenger, the belief they held in their heart was contrary to this.
