Life Is Silently Slipping Away

Book Name:Life Is Silently Slipping Away

delivers the same message that everything is mortal.

Dear Islamic brothers! At the beginning, we had the honour of listening to verse 62 of Surah al-Furqān (Part 19). In it, we are informed of the wisdom behind the succession of day and night, and the lessons derived from it.

A Brief Explanation of the Noble Verse

It is stated:

وَ هُو

And it is He

Who? Allah Almighty. The verse further mentions the cycle of day and night, and through it, Allah Almighty introduces us to His recognition. Thus, the first lesson of this noble verse is that the alternation of day and night is a proof of the existence of Allah Almighty and His Oneness.

Therefore, instead of wasting our days and nights in useless activities, we should reflect upon them, and through this reflection, recognise the power of Allah Almighty, His absolute authority, and our helplessness.

Allah Almighty states:

“And it is He.”

Who?

جَعَلَ الَّیْلَ وَ النَّهَارَ خِلْفَةً

Who made the night and the day come after one another ˹as a sign˺

Night falls, then day arrives; then night returns, and then day breaks once more. For thousands of years, this cycle has continued in the same manner.

O devotees of the holy Prophet! Why do day and night come one after the other? Who is it for?
