Book Name:How to love Allah even further
O Sirī! When I created the creation, all of them claimed to love Me. When I created the world, 90% fled and 10% remained. I then created Paradise, so from those who remained, another 90% fled, and only 10% remained. When I inflicted upon them even the slightest trial, then from the remaining amount, only 10% stayed, whilst the remaining 90% ran away.
I asked those who remained, “You did not desire the world, you did not seek Paradise, nor did you flee from trials. What do you desire and what is your objective?”
They submitted, “You alone are our objective. If You impose hardships upon us, even then we shall never stop loving You.”
I said to them, “I shall test you with calamities and trials that even mountains cannot withstand. Will you remain patient upon them?”
They submitted: “Why not, O Master! If You are the one testing us, then test us however You will.”
Allah then declared, “O Sirī! These are My true slaves and My sincere beloveds.”[1]
Dear Islamic brothers! From this, we learn that the pious slaves of Allah remain patient and grateful in every condition, staying pleased with His decree, never uttering even a letter of complaint. Such people are the true beloveds of Allah Almighty. We too should be patient over the trials that come from Him in order to attain His love.
What kind of love do believers have for Allah Almighty? Let us see what the noble Quran announces about this.
In the 165th verse of Surah al-Baqarah, Allah Almighty states:
وَ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اَشَدُّ حُبًّا لِّلّٰهِؕ
those who believe, ˹they˺ love Allah the most.[2]
