Contemplating the blessings Allah Almighty gave us

Dear Islamic brothers! Constant reflection upon Allah’s favours, both outward and inward, is an effective means to grow in love for Him. Undoubtedly, Allah Almighty has bestowed countless favours upon His servants. He fashioned the Earth for us to walk upon, raised the skies without pillars, sent Messengers to guide mankind to the truth, and granted us innumerable personal blessings—life, the breath that sustains it, feet for walking, hands for touching, eyes for seeing, ears for hearing, a nose for smelling, a tongue for speech, and many other favours we seldom contemplate. Even one small blessing of His outweighs many years of worship we might perform.

It is related that a person’s 400 years of worship have been recorded without a single sin committed in that time. On the Day of Judgement, Allah Almighty will declare, “Place his 400 years of worship on one scale and My favour of the eye on the other—My favour will outweigh it.” Thus, always keep Allah’s bestowed favours in mind and remain grateful.[2]
