Book Name:How to love Allah even further
instead of complaining about the difficulties and hardships that come from Him, we exercise patience in every situation. Allah Almighty loves those who are patient.
Allah Almighty says in Surah Āl-ꜤImrān, verse 146:
وَ اللّٰهُ یُحِبُّ الصّٰبِرِیْنَ(۱۴۶)
and Allah loves those who are patient.[1]
If we are patient, then—اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه—true love for Allah Almighty will settle firmly within our hearts.
It is narrated from the Companion Sayyidunā Anas رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ that the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: “Indeed, greatest reward comes with the severest trial. When Allah loves a nation, He subjects them to trials. Whoever is content with His decree, for them is His pleasure. Whoever is displeased, for them is His displeasure.”[2]
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Purging the heart of love for the world
Dear Islamic brothers! Another way to attain love for Allah Almighty is to remove the love of the world from our hearts. Regrettably, being entangled in the love and allurements of this world gradually robs our hearts of the sweetness of loving Allah Almighty.
If we truly loved Allah as we should, our prayers would not be missed, the fasts of Ramadan would not be abandoned, and we would not be lax in paying zakat. It becomes clear that attachment to the world prevents us from attaining this. We must free ourselves from the love of the world as soon as possible, for there is loss upon loss in loving it.
