He further asked, “Would you accept a hundred thousand dirhams for one hand?”
Again, the man replied, “No.”
“Or for a foot?” he inquired.
“No,” responded the man.
The narrator reports that after reminding him of Allah’s other favours, Sayyidunā Yūnus b. ꜤUbayd رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه said: “I see you possessing countless favours, and you complain of need?”[1]

Dear Islamic brothers! Those fortunate Muslims who love one another for the sake of Allah Almighty and gather solely for His pleasure—for example, those who attend Dawat-e-Islami’s weekly Sunnah-inspired gatherings, study or teach in Madrasat al-Madinah for Adults, deliver or listen to Islamic lessons, travel in Madani Qafilahs, or participate in the post-Fajr study circles—all such people who gather, meet, and spend on one another for the sake of Allah Almighty; it is they who attain true love of Allah Almighty.
Here is a narration relating to this: “Allah Almighty states: ‘Those who love each other for My sake, sit with each other for My sake, meet with each other for My sake, and spend upon each other for My sake—I undoubtedly love them.’”[2]
Dear Islamic brothers! We too should strive to become beloved to Allah Almighty by increasing our acts of worship, recitation of the noble Quran, and good deeds. And if, due to human weakness, any sin occurs, immediately turn to Allah Almighty in sincere repentance—for He loves those who repent.
