Become like Sayyidunā Abū Bakr al-iddīq رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ

Dear Islamic brothers! Among the countless virtues of the first Caliph of Islam, Sayyidunā Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ, is that all Muslims until the Day of Judgment have been commanded to follow him, walk in his footsteps, and to take his life as a model of guidance.

In the noble Quran, in the 79th verse of Sūrah Āl Imrān, Allah Almighty commands:

كُوْنُوْا رَبّٰنِیّٖنَ

 Become people of Allah[1]

Someone asked Sayyidunā Abū Abbās Aṭāرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه , “In this verse, who has Allah commanded us to be like?” He explained, “In this verse, we are commanded to be like Abū Bakr رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ (as after the Prophets, there is nobody more devoted to Allah Almighty than him).”[2]

In another verse of the noble Quran, Allah Almighty says:

وَّ اتَّبِـعْ سَبِیْلَ مَنْ اَنَابَ اِلَیَّۚ-

And follow the path of the one who returns to Me in repentance,[3]
