Book Name:Virtues and Attributes of Al Siddīq Al Akbar رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! On the 22nd of Jumādā al-Ākhirah, the passing of Sayyidunā Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ is commemorated. In connection with this blessed occasion, today we will have the honour of learning about his virtues and qualities. May Allah Almighty grant us true love for all the noble Companions and the Ahl al-Bayt رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم, especially for Sayyidunā Abū Bakr رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ, and enable us to take guidance from his life to improve our character and conduct.
اٰمِیْنْ بِجَاہِ خاتَمِ النَّبِیّٖن صلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہ ِوَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ
A brief introduction to al-Ṣiddīq al-Akbar رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ
Sayyidunā Abū Bakrرَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was a Companion of the highest rank. His name was ꜤAbdullāh, his teknonym was Abū Bakr, and his famous titles were Ṣiddīq and ꜤAtīq.
He was the first adult male to accept Islam, the first Companion of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and one of the Prophet’s earliest friends. He was the first preacher, orator, and supporter of Islam, aiding it with both his life and wealth. He was the first person to build a masjid and a special vizier to the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. He could even hear angels speaking. From amongst all the noble Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم, he was appointed by the Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to lead prayer.
He was granted the title “Ṣiddīq” by Allah Almighty, Angel Jibrīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام, and the noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. He was the first Caliph of Islam and a representative of the Greatest Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
Around 32 verses of the noble Quran and hundreds of sacred Aḥādīth highlight his greatness and virtues.
After the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم passed away, it was Sayyidunā Abū Bakrرَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ who was appointed as first Caliph, serving for 2 years and 3
