Sunan and Etiquettes Relating to Hair
Dear Islamic brothers! Let us listen to sunan and etiquettes concerning hair from the booklet 163 Madani Pearls by the Amir of Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ:
1.The blessed hair of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم were sometimes up to the middle of his blessed ears and sometimes up to the lobe of his blessed ears. At other times, when they grew longer they would touch his blessed shoulders.[1]
2.Mawlana Mufti Muḥammad Amjad ꜤAlī al-AꜤẓamīرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه says:
It is not permissible for a man to grow his hair in the manner of women. Some pseudo-Sufis grow long locks that sway on their chest like a snake, and some braid their hair or tie it in a bun (i.e., gather the hair like women and knot it at the back of the head like women). All these are impermissible acts and against the Shariah.[2]
3.Do not have the hair of young girls cut in a masculine style; make them accustomed to growing long hair from childhood.
The remaining sunan and etiquettes relating to hair will be explained in the study circles. Therefore, to know them, be sure to attend the study circles.
