2.When you reach the masjid, if you have time, offer the supererogatory prayers of Taḥīyyat al-Masjid and Taḥīyyat al-Wuḍūˈ. (But remember! These supererogatory prayers cannot be offered after the Fajr and Maghrib azan).
3.Or, if you wish, you may make the intention for Taḥīyyat al-Wuḍūˈ and Taḥīyyat al-Masjid while performing the Sunan Qabliyyah (the Sunan before the obligatory prayers)!
4.Then sit while waiting for the congregation. Sitting in anticipation of prayer is also full of benefits.
Perform Four Tasks After Every Prayer!
Imām al-Ghazālīرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه says: “Four tasks should be performed after every prayer: (1) Recite the noble Quran, (2) perform dhikr, (3) ponder, and (4) supplicate.”[1]
If you have time, do them all, and if you have little time, it is not difficult either. All four tasks can be done in five minutes, for example, reciting just three verses of the noble Quran. This might take one minute. Recite a brief litany, recite Tasbīḥ Fāṭimah, or whatever litanies and recitations have been granted by your Spiritual Guide, which you can recite in a minute to a minute and a half. Then, for just one minute, close your eyes and imagine the grave and the Hereafter, death, rising on the Day of Judgement, and presenting yourself in the court of Allah Almighty! Finally, make a supplication! In this way, all four tasks will be completed in five minutes, اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه!
