Remaining Sunan and Etiquettes Relating to Hair

.It is a sunnah to part your hair in the middle if you have hair on your head.[1]

.It is not a sunnah to cut hair in a specific style using scissors or clippers, making some parts long and others short.

.It is an innovation to shave or pluck the few hairs that are between the lower lip and the chin.[2]

.One should not sleep after applying henna to the beard or head. According to a ḥakīm, sleeping whilst henna is applied can cause the heat from the head to descend into the eyes, which is harmful for one’s sight.

.The white hairs of a person who applies henna, especially those on the moustache, lower lip, and the line of the beard, become visible again in a few days, which does not look good. Therefore, if you cannot dye your entire beard repeatedly, you should at least try to apply a small amount of henna every four days to the areas where white hair is visible.
