Weighing the Faith of Sayyiduna Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ
The Companion ꜤAbdullah b. ꜤUmar رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا reports that the final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said:
لَوْ وُزِنَ اِیْمَانُ اَبِی بَکْرٍ بِاِیْمَانِ اَہْلِ الْاَرْضِ لَرَجَحَ
“If the faith of Abū Bakr was weighed against the faith of the people of the world, his would be heavier.”[2]
سُبْحٰنَ اللہ Dear Islamic brothers! This is one of the many excellences of Sayyiduna Abū Bakr رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ. The people of the world include many great Companions علیہمُ الرّضوان, the generations after the Prophet, the Muslims of previous nations, and the saints who will continue to come until the Day of Judgement. If the faith of all these righteous individuals is put on one side, it would not outweigh the faith of a single man, the great devotee of the Prophet and the foremost Companion, Sayyiduna Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ.
Dear Islamic brothers! There is a huge difference between knowledge and experience. For example, someone says honey is sweet, but he has never tasted honey in his life. He has read about this from books or heard about it from people. Another person who has eaten honey also says honey is sweet. Both of their statements are true, but the way they reached their conclusions is different; one through experience and the
