Fulfil the requirements of faith

Faith has many branches as described in various hadith, and scholars of hadith have written entire books regarding this. In essence, these are the requirements of faith, and acting upon them will fortify your belief. Some of these branches include:

*   Love and fear of Allah

*   Love and devotion for the Prophet

*   Offering salah

*   Fasting

*   Performing hajj

*   Paying zakat

*   Serving Islam

*   Being thankful

*   Protecting the tongue from sins

*   Being modest and abandoning sin

All of these are branches of faith, and acting upon them consistently will improve your faith. If only we would look for ways of increasing our good deeds like how we always look for new ways of attaining wealth! For example, offering the five daily salah is obligatory, but we should also perform optional worship alongside this, and gradually increase the amount we perform every month.

The same principle can be applied to other acts of worship like fasting, reciting the Quran, sending ṣalāt upon the Prophet, and performing the dhikr of Allah. May we become those who have concern for strengthening our faith, and who seek to increase the love for Allah Almighty and His Messenger!
