or dwelled upon the matter first. Yet, when I invited Abū Bakr, he immediately accepted without hesitation.”[1]

Complete reliance on Allah and His Messenger

Dear Islamic brothers! Look how unshakably strong the faith of Sayyiduna Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ is ! Let us listen to a famous story relating to this:

During the Expedition of Tabuk, money was needed to assist Islam.  The final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم encouraged people to give in the way of Allah. The Companions علیہمُ الرّضوان gave what they could, but Sayyiduna Abū Bakr رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ took absolutely everything from his home and presented it in the court of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked, “O Abū Bakr, what have you left for your family?” He replied, “O Messenger of Allah! Allah and His Messenger are enough for my family.”[2]

No Worry for Sustenance

سُبْحٰنَ اللہ Dear Islamic brothers! Sayyiduna Abū Bakr’s faith was so strong that he gave everything he owned in the way of Allah. Relying upon Allah and His Messenger was enough for him. He himself said, “The day I read this verse; by Allah! I stopped worrying about sustenance:”[3]

وَ مَا مِنْ دَآبَّةٍ فِی الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا عَلَى اللّٰهِ رِزْقُهَا

And there is no one that walks upon the earth whose sustenance is not upon the responsibility of Allah’s Generosity.[4]
