Book Name:Ala Hazrat Aik Peer e Kamil
1. Remain firm on the way of the Ahl al-Sunnah
Imam Aḥmad Razā Khān رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه stated:
Remain firm on the beliefs of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-JamāꜤah. Avoid all the heretical sects and consider them your antagonists; do not listen to them, do not sit with them, and do not read any of their literature. It does not take long for Satan to instil his whisper in a person’s heart.
A person will never go to a place where he fears for his wealth or honour. Faith and religion are the most valuable of all possessions. It is obligatory to make every effort to protect them. Wealth, worldly honour and this worldly life are restricted to this world. Faith and religion are what we need for success in the eternal abode (i.e. hereafter). Caring about this is fundamentally important.
2. Remain steadfast in offering the five daily salah
Imam Aḥmad Razā Khān رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه further advises:
Offering the five daily salah is extremely important. It is wājib for men to attend the masjid congregation (i.e. being steadfast in praying in congregation). A Muslim who does not pray is like a mere outward effigy of a human. His form is human, but he does not carry out the works of a human. A Muslim who does not pray is not just someone who misses every salah. Even someone who misses just one salah is regarded as someone who does not pray.
3. Make up for any missed prayers
However many prayers have been missed, calculate all of them, such that none remain in your estimation. There is no harm in estimating a higher number. In the course of time, quickly make up for them. Do not be lazy as you do not know the time of your death.
