Book Name:Naik Amaal Raahe Nijaat

1, p. 16, Hadith 12) On one occasion, he صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, ‘Your act of saying Salam to the people warmly is also Sadaqah [donation].’ (Jami’-ul-‘Uloom-o-Al-Hakim, vol. 1, p. 235) Hadrat Ibn-e-Umar narrated that if a Muslim says Salam to 20 Muslims, Jannah becomes Wajid for him. (Kanz-ul-‘Amal, jazz, vol. 5, p. 51, Hadith 25282) The Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated, ‘When two Muslims meet and shake hands, their sins are forgiven before they separate.’ (Mishkat-ul-Masabih, vol. 2, p. 169, Hadith 4679) Hadrat Bara bin ‘Aazib narrated that the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated, ‘Whoever offered four Rak’at before noon, it is as if he offered these Rak’at in Shab-e-Qadr; and when two Muslims shake hands, all of their sins are effaced. None of their sins remain.’ (Mishkat-ul-Masabih, vol. 2, p. 171, Hadith 4694)

Dear Islamic brothers! Remember! In the Ahadith mentioned above where forgiveness for the sins is mentioned, it refers to the minor sins, because the major sins are not forgiven without making true repentance and similarly without begging a deserving person’s forgiveness for his right. However, this is such a beautiful Sunnah of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم that it eliminates mutual hatred and enmity, and creates the environment of mutual love and affection. Therefore, from the light of these Madani pearls that came out of the blessed Ahadith, we should also act upon the pious deed of spreading Salam and say Salam to every Muslim without any discrimination whether we know him or not. Similarly, when we enter our house, we should say Salam to our family members. Nowadays people usually say Salam to each other to some extent outside the house, but when entering the house, they do not say Salam to their family members. Instead, they enter the house silently. This attitude is against Sunnah. In fact, when entering the house, saying Salam to the family members is Sunnah and a source of blessing.
