Book Name:Huqooq Ul Ibaad Ki Ahmiyat
Dear Islamic brothers! اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه, in the Bayan of this week’s Sunnah-inspired Ijtima’, we will hear about the importance of the people’s rights, some Quranic verses, Ahadees and accounts in regards to this. Let us first listen to a moralistic account:
The consequence of the king’s slap
Ameer-ul-Mu`mineen Sayyiduna Umar Farooq-e-A’zam رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ would not give leniency to anyone in the matter of people’s rights. The king of Ghassaan had newly become a Muslim, and Sayyiduna Farooq-e-A’zam رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was very happy due to this, as there was hope that his subjects would also embrace faith due to this.
During Tawaaf, a poor Bedouin stepped onto the clothes of the king of Ghassaan; he became angry and hit the Bedouin with so much force that his tooth fell out. So, he made a plea in the court of Sayyiduna Umar-e-Farooq-e-A’zam رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ.
The king of Ghassaan accepted that he had hit the Bedouin, so, he رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ said to the claimant, i.e., the Bedouin, ‘You can take revenge from the king of Ghassaan.’
Considering it to be unpleasant, the king of Ghassaan said, ‘How has such an unimportant person become equal to me that he has the right to take revenge from me!’
Sayyiduna Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ said, ‘Islam has made both of you equal.’ The king of Ghassaan took a day’s respite for the revenge, and then fled at night and مَعَاذَ الـلّٰـه became an apostate. (Khutbat-e-Muharram, p. 138; Zulm ka anjam, p. 35)

Dear Islamic brothers!
