obedient person. When this verse was recited in front of Sayyiduna Yahya Bin Mu’aaz رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه, he began to cry and stated, ‘(O my Creator!) This is Your mercy towards that person who claims to be god, then what will be the extent of the mercy You show to that person who claims that only You are God. And this is Your mercy towards that person who claims that ‘I am your greatest god,’ so what will be the extent of the mercy You show to that person who says that ‘My Lord is He Who is greater than all.’ (Siraat-ul-Jinaan, vol. 6, pp. 202)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب           صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Virtues of politeness

Dear Islamic brothers! Whenever we are presented with the opportunity to invite people towards righteousness, we must do so with love, affection and politeness. By inviting towards righteousness in this manner, اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه our words will begin to have a positive effect and the person we are inviting will listen to our words carefully and try to act upon it. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has referred to the soft and kind heart of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم as His mercy.

It is stated in part 4, Surah Aal-e-‘Imran, Ayah 159:

فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ لِنْتَ لَهُمْۚ

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: So what a great mercy it is from Allah, that O Beloved, you became soft-hearted towards them.

(Part 4, Surah Aal-e-‘Imran, Ayah 159)

 

In this verse, the beautiful manners of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم are being mentioned. Hence it is said: ‘O Beloved صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! The mercy of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ upon you is so much that He has made you soft-hearted and one who is affectionate and compassionate, and He has created so much favour,
