Someone has beautifully said that a parrot eats chillies yet speaks sweet words, whereas human eats sweet yet speaks harsh words.

It is a reality that a person gets angry when he hears anything against his temperament, but in this situation, one must not act with emotion but with wisdom, in the form of patience and tolerance, as without this, there is no benefit. With regard to this, let’s listen to a parable from the biography of Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ:

A demonstration of great discipline

This is an event from those times when the weekly Sunnah-inspiring Ijtima of the Madani movement Dawat-e-Islami used to take place in the very first Madani Markaz Gulzar-e-Habib Masjid, Gulistan-e-Shafi’ Okarvi (Soldier Bazaar), Karachi. Once, Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ was on the way to attend the weekly Ijtima’ with some Islamic brothers, he passed by a cinema, where a young person, who was in the queue to buy a ticket, shouted out, ‘O Maulana! A very good film is being shown today. Come and watch it (مَعَاذَ اللہ).’ Before the Islamic brothers could get emotional and do something, Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ said Salaam in a loud voice, approached the young person and politely made individual effort on him, saying, ‘Son, I do not watch films. But as you provided me with an invitation, I thought I would give you some invitation as well. A weekly Sunnah-inspiring Ijtima’ in Gulzar-e-Habib Masjid will begin now اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه. I request you to attend this Ijtima’. If you cannot come now, then do come some other time.” He then gave him a bottle of perfume (Itr) as a gift.

A few years later, an Islamic brother with Imamah Shareef came to Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ and narrated, ‘Your Honour! A few years ago, a young person (مَعَاذَ اللہ) invited you to watch a film and instead of getting angry, you presented an invitation towards righteousness in a very polite manner. That young person is me. I was very influenced with your good character and one day, I did attend the Ijtima’. Then I received your kind attention and اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰہ! I repented of my sins and joined the environment of Dawat-e-Islami.’
