Sayyidunā Khuld b. Ayyūb رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه narrates:
A worshipper from Banī Isrā'īl worshipped Allah Almighty on a mountain peak for 60 years. One night, he had a dream in which someone said: “Such-and-such a cobbler is a greater worshipper than you, and his rank is higher than yours.”
When the worshipper awoke, he reflected on the dream and said to himself: “It was merely a dream; what weight does it carry?” Thus, he paid no attention to it. After some time, he had a similar dream and heard the same words: “Such-and-such a cobbler is superior to you.” But he ignored the dream this time too. When the same was said to him in a dream for the third time, informing him of the cobbler's excellence, he descended from the mountain and went to find the cobbler.
