Book Name:Blessings of Having a Good Opinion
Remaining Sunan and Etiquettes of Greeting
1.90 mercies descend upon the one who offers salam first, and 10 mercies descend upon the one who replies.[1]
2.Saying "اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیْکُمْ" earns 10 good deeds. If "وَرَحْمَۃُ اللہ" is added, it becomes 20 good deeds, and adding "وَبَرَکاتُہ" makes it 30 good deeds.
3.Some people add phrases like "Jannat-ul-Maqām" and "Dōzakh-ul-Ḥarām" to the salam. This is incorrect.
4.It is necessary (wājib) to reply to salam immediately and in such a tone that the person offering salam can hear the response.
5.Kindly learn the correct pronunciation of salam and its reply. First, I will say it; listen carefully and repeat after me: "اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیْکُمْ." Now, I will say the reply, and you repeat after me: " وَعَلَیکُمُ السَّلام."
