The Reward of Feeding Bread Outweighed Sins

O devotees of the Prophet! Feeding the hungry, quenching the thirst of the thirsty, and helping the poor are highly rewarding acts. It is mentioned in ShuꜤab al-Īmān:

In one of the previous nations, there was a worshipper who worshipped Allah Almighty for 60 years. Then his carnal-self and Satan overcame him, and he fell into the calamity of fornication spending six nights with a non-mahram woman.

His previous worship came to his aid; Allah Almighty showed mercy to him, and he felt remorse for this sin. When he realised that he had committed disobedience to Allah Almighty, he rushed to the masjid out of fear of Allah. There, he saw three hungry people sitting. So, he had the good fortune to feed them.

It is narrated: After his demise, when his deeds were weighed, his 60 years of worship were placed on one side of the scale, and the sin of six days on the other. The sin of six days of fornication outweighed 60 years of worship. But Allah Almighty showed mercy, and the one bread he had fed the three hungry people, when placed on the scale of good deeds, made his scale of good deeds heavier.[1]

اللہ اکبر! Dear Islamic Brothers! Ponder! The heinous offence of 6 days which had outweighed 60 years of worship, was outweighed by one bread given as charity to feed a hungry person, and became a means for the worshipper's forgiveness.

May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to spend generously in His way, feed the hungry, and help the poor.
