Some Points Relating to Responding to Salām

Dear Islamic Brothers! Like feeding others, responding to salām is also a sign of an excellent person. Unfortunately, nowadays, there is much negligence and carelessness in this matter. Firstly, do we even express the Islamic greeting of salām now? People say "Hello," "Hi," "Good Morning," etc., even though these are not Islamic greetings. The Islamic greeting is "اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُه" (May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you). Whenever you meet someone, say "اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُه" and                   اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه, you will receive reward.

    The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم Taught Islamic Greetings

Sayyidunā Abū Rāshid ꜤAbd al-Raḥmān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ, a Companion of the Prophet, relates:

When I was young, I once came into the presence of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and said: "انْعِمْ صَبَاحاً", meaning, 'Good morning.' The Beloved Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  said: "This is not the greeting of Muslims. When you go to someone, say: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ."[1]

    Salām Creates Love

سُبْحٰنَ الله ! Dear Islamic Brothers! This is the Islamic greeting. Whenever you meet someone, you should greet them in this manner. "Salām" is a priceless blessing. Allah Almighty has placed such efficacy in Salām that when we say Salām with our tongue, its effect directly reaches the heart. Our Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, said: لَا تَدْخُلُوا الجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا “You cannot enter Paradise until you believe!” وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا  and you cannot truly believe until you love each other!” He then said: "Shall I not tell you
