Book Name:Behtar Kon?
Sadr al-Afāḍil, Mawlana Sayyid Muhammad NaꜤīm al-Dīn Murādābādī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه writes under this verse: “This means that they feed others even when they themselves are in need and desire food. Some commentators have taken it to mean that they feed others out of love for Allah Almighty.”[1]
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه ! It is clear that one should not do it for praise, to show off before people, to get pictures in newspapers, posters, or to go viral on social media. Rather, the person who feeds others purely out of love for Allah Almighty, seeking His pleasure alone, is adopting a quality of the people of Paradise.
The Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, said: "There is a palace in Paradise whose exterior is visible from the interior, and its interior from the exterior. Allah Almighty has prepared this palace for those who feed others."[2]
A Way for Entering Paradise with Peace
Sayyidunā ꜤAbdullāh ibn Salām رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ says: "When I came to Madinah al-Munawwarah, the first words I heard from the blessed tongue of The Final Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم were:
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ! أَفشُوا السَّلَام وَأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ وَصَلُّوا
بِالَّيْلِ وَالنَّاسُ نِیام تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ بِسَلَام
“O people, spread salām, feed the people, and pray at night when the people sleep; you will enter Paradise with peace."[3]
