lower self, and to follow the Sunnah of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم instead, we should all affiliate ourselves with the religious environment of Dawat-e-Islami and take part in its 12 Islamic Activities. The Amir of Ahl al-Sunnah, Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri has given us the 72 Pious Deeds booklet, which is something for us all to act upon.
From the 72 good deeds mentioned in this, Pious Deed 29 asks us, “Today, did you eat according to the Sunnah and recite the duas that come before and after eating?”
By acting upon this, not only will we begin eating according to the Sunnah, but we will eat to less than our fill, which goes a long way in helping us control our carnal desires.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! As the speech comes to an end, we will now have the honour of discussing the Sunnah, and also look at some etiquettes, which we can all benefit from.
The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم declared:
مَنْ اَحَبَّ سُنَّتِي فَقَدْ اَحَبَّنِي وَمَنْ اَحَبَّنِي كَانَ مَعِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ
Whoever loves my Sunnah loves me, and whoever loves me shall be with me in Paradise.[1]
Sunan and etiquettes regarding hospitality
Dear Islamic brothers! Let us now discuss some Sunan and etiquettes related to hospitality and hosting guests. We will begin with three Aḥādīth of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
